Frontenac Forest School began with a simple belief: every child deserves to learn with joy, freedom, and belonging.

As a certified teacher and early childhood educator, I’ve supported diverse learners in classrooms, forest schools, and community programs. I’ve taught science, literacy, and French—and I’ve seen firsthand how children thrive when we honour their natural curiosity. But I also saw how traditional learning environments often left some kids behind.

So I stepped outside. Into the woods, into the water, and into a new way of learning.

Frontenac Forest School is rooted in the forest school philosophy: child-led, play-based, and grounded in the rhythms of nature. But our approach goes further. We welcome all children—neurodivergent, multilingual, sensitive, spirited, and everything in between.

Here, learning happens through loose parts play, storytelling under trees, STEM experiments in the mud, and French songs by the fire.

We also offer something rare: water-based confidence building. As a certified lifesaving and swim instructor, I help children develop safety skills and comfort in natural water settings—an essential life skill, especially in our lake-rich region.

We’re growing something meaningful on this land: trails, relationships, resilience. And we’re doing it gently—always with care for the environment and the community around us.
